Where did the summer go?
Is anyone else asking themselves that? Sept. 1 is tomorrow, and we wanted to be sure you had your calendars marked for some great events at and around Ivy Tech. (And here’s a hint: There’s a loooot of good food.)
First Friday Readings
7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 1
Once a month, the Three Rivers Co-op Natural Grocery & Deli (1612 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne) hosts two local writers to read their work. In September, one of those readers will be Troy Bigelow, an assistant professor in English.

Grasshopper
5 p.m. Sept. 2 & 16; 6 p.m. Sept. 8 & 22
The Fort Wayne Campus’s food truck will be at Two-EE’s Winery (6808 US 24, Huntington) just a few more times this season. Be sure to stop by and grab a bite!
Kelty’s Bakery
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27
Be sure to stop by the semester’s first Kelty’s Bakery, which will feature, of course, baked goods like breads, rolls, and muffins, plus a specialty item each Wednesday. For its inaugural morning Sept. 6, Kelty’s will have biscuits and gravy.
Classical Cuisines
5 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28
For the first time, culinary students will host classical French cuisine dinners this semester. The menu is French, the cooking techniques are French, and it’s all on campus, in the Hospitality Room on Coliseum Campus. Get your tickets and try some French fare.
Public Safety Job Fair
9 to 10 a.m. Sept. 15
Thinking about finding work in the public safety profession? Stop by the Public Safety Job fair to meet with employees like regional police departments, private security, the U.S. Army, and more to discuss job and internship opportunities.
