Adams County Economic Development Corporation and Ivy Tech Community College have partnered to offer a two-course business program in Adams County for Fall 2022.
The course line-up will include BUSN101 – Intro to Business and BUSN105 – Principals of Management. The courses will be offered in two 8-week time slots, to allow for individuals to complete the Intro to Business course and then move into Principals of Management.
“An Ivy Tech credential is the best path to a high-demand job with great pay in Northeast Indiana,” said Dr. Kim Barnett-Johnson, chancellor of Ivy Tech Fort Wayne. “We’re committed to making this education available throughout our service area and are grateful for community partners like the MERIT Center. This is the critical connection that allows us to provide convenient, accessible, and high-quality courses in the Adams County community.”
The development of these courses is the direct result of feedback from Adams County businesses that expressed a need for themselves or their employees to acquire or refresh certain skills.
“Adams County Economic Development Corporation is determined to provide our businesses and residents with opportunities for quality, relevant training programs that will ultimately allow for those businesses and residents to thrive,” said Colton Bickel, executive director of Adams County Economic Development Corporation. “We are excited and grateful that Ivy Tech has joined us in making programs like these a reality in Adams County.”
The first 8-week course begins in August, with the second beginning in October. The courses will be held once a week and be in-person at the MERIT Center, located at 1109 Dayton Street in Decatur.
