Ivy Tech Fort Wayne to host BFGoodrich Technical Scholar recruiters on Feb. 21

BFGoodrich recruiters will be on Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne’s campus at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Feb. 21 to talk to anyone interested in the Technical Scholar Program. This program provides potential and current Ivy Tech Fort Wayne students an opportunity to develop paid hands-on work experiences while earning their A.A.S. degree in Industrial Technology.

Accepted students will receive scholarships to cover the cost of tuition, course fees, and books, while working part-time in the BFGoodrich manufacturing facility in Woodburn, Ind. Graduates of the Technical Scholar Program are eligible for full time entry-level employment as maintenance technicians at BFGoodrich with salary projections of $55,000 or more annually.

“The BFGoodrich Tech Scholar Program is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where individuals can obtain paid work experience, classroom instruction, and portable industry-recognized credentials,” said Trevor Faull, Ivy Tech Fort Wayne and Technical Scholar alumnus. “This program has allowed me to achieve careers goals in rewarding and efficient ways that a normal four-year degree would not have been able to.”

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in Ivy Tech Fort Wayne’s Industrial Technology Associate of Applied Science with an emphasis on Industrial Electrical and Industrial Mechanical programs.
  • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
