Ivy Tech Fort Wayne celebrating Black History Month with upcoming events for college, community

Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne is hosting campus events in honor of Black History Month. The College invites the community to join students and employees for African Soul International, an immersive dance performance. 

African Soul International
Noon, Feb. 15 in the Student Life Center commons on North Campus, 3701 Dean Drive in Fort Wayne
African Soul International has a mission of preserving and presenting the rich culture of the African and African-American experience. Attendees will receive more than just dance classes, they will become Cultural Ambassadors, learning about the arts and the history of African culture. Join Ivy Tech Fort Wayne and African Soul International for this fun, interactive, engaging and educational activity.

Additionally, the College is hosting a statewide virtual event featuring guest speaker, Dr. Tricia Rose. Ivy Tech Fort Wayne is hosting a student watch party on campus.

For the 18th year, Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo is presenting “Doing the Dream: A Cultural Celebration,” honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This virtual program is open to all Ivy Tech students, and includes a watch party on Ivy Tech Fort Wayne’s campus. During this event, Dr. Tricia Rose will share her insights on how we can honor and advance the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for a just and equitable world. Community members are welcome to attend an in-person event on Ivy Tech Kokomo’s campus.
