Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne is partnering with Stoops Freightliner & Western Star to promote the Get Ahead event on Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Steel Dynamics, Inc. Keith E. Busse Technology Center. Current or prospective Diesel Technology students are invited to enjoy lunch, check out heavy duty trucks on display, and speak with top-level technicians on how the new Get Ahead program can increase their employment opportunities.
Stoops Freightliner is sponsoring Ivy Tech Fort Wayne’s enrollment into Daimler Truck North America’s Get Ahead program. This program will allow students to access dealership level training on Freightliner, Western Star, and Detroit branded products.
“Ivy Tech students can earn the OEM certifications that dealerships require, giving them a jump start on their career after they graduate,” says Nick Lengacher, General Manager of Stoops Freightliner & Western Star in Fort Wayne and Fremont. “We will continue to assist Ivy Tech with program administration and serve as the primary contact for questions relating to training courses and the Learning Management System.”
