Old Fort Mustangers Club received donations from Auburn Gear to help raise money for its annual automotive scholarship at the 31st annual Old Fort Mustangers Club Mustang & Ford Show at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne. The Old Fort Mustangers generously donates money raised at the car show; and this year Auburn Gear and president Marty Palmer, who is also an Ivy Tech Fort Wayne Campus Board of Trustees member, donated two High Performance Mustang Differentials to raise scholarship funds at the show. The money funded a $750 scholarship for automotive technology student Alexander Doege.
“We’re so grateful for the scholarships provided by the Old Fort Mustangers Club, and we were especially pleased when Auburn Gear joined in to raise additional scholarship funds for an automotive technology student,” says Margaret Sturm, executive director of resource development. “Every year we look forward to this event and want to thank everyone who braved the 90+ degree weather to support the Old Fort Mustangers Club and Ivy Tech students.”
The Old Fort Mustangers have partnered with Ivy Tech since 1989 and award an Ivy Tech Foundation scholarship at the show to an automotive technology student every year. In that time, the Old Fort Mustangers have donated more than $30,000 for automotive student scholarships.
