UPDATE: The submission deadline has been extended to February 1, 2019.
Ivy Tech Community College’s Fort Wayne campus will be celebrating its 50th year anniversary in 2019. As part of the celebration, the College is seeking an artist(s) to create an original public art installation at Ivy Tech’s Coliseum Campus, near the corner of E. Coliseum Blvd. and North Anthony Blvd.
Ivy Tech is looking for a signature art work of exceptional quality and enduring value that highlights the importance of community-focused higher education and reflects the identity of Ivy Tech. See the Call for Artists attachment for the specifics to the competition and detailed artistic guidelines.
“We are so pleased to be celebrating our 50th year providing higher education and workforce training in northeast Indiana,“ says Chancellor Jerrilee K. Mosier, Ed.D. “This artistic creation will symbolize and reflect our mission to serving the communities and to building a stronger northeast Indiana.”
The chosen artist(s) will be awarded up to a $12,000 commission (all inclusive of design, materials, construction, installation) for the artist(s) to realize the work. Private community donations, College fundraising efforts, and grant-matching crowd-funding resources will provide the commission.
This opportunity is open to established professional artists living in northeast Indiana’s 11-county area (Allen, Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, Kosciusko, LaGrange).
See the Call for Artists attachment for additional information, eligibility requirements, application guidelines, selection criteria, and more. The application deadline is 5 p.m. (Eastern) on Jan. 15, 2019. The chosen artist(s) will be selected and notified by Feb. 15, 2019, and installation will take place in mid-August 2019. All submissions must be sent via email to fortwayne-50th@ivytech.edu.
