WHAT:
The New Venture Competition, in its seventh year, is a business plan contest that will award $35,000 in startup capital to a winning Ivy Tech Community College student or alumnus entrepreneur based on his or her business plan.
The finalists and their businesses are Kendall Riecken, of KR Designs, an automotive detailing and restoration company; Courtney Jagoda, of Caliber Contracting, which specializes in tiny houses; and Clayton Ostermeyer, of The Vault, a projected downtown Fort Wayne bar. At Thursday’s dinner, community judges comprised of area business leaders and community professionals will watch the finalists’ presentations and vote for a winner.
The contest is sponsored by JB Tool, Die & Engineering, Inc., and its owners Dave and Mary Bear; and the Edward M. and Mary McCrea Wilson Foundation. The dinner is sponsored by ProFed Credit Union. The event is in collaboration with Fort Wayne SCORE.
