Ivy Tech Community College’s Fort Wayne Campus is Career Step’s newest academic partner. Career Step is an online provider of career-focused education and professional training.
“Ivy Tech Community College is dedicated to providing their students with quality options for education,” says Glade Tidwell, Career Step vice president of Academic Partnerships. “After partnering with 13 other branches of Ivy Tech, we are excited to partner with the Fort Wayne service area and assist in positively impacting the careers and lives of the students in northeast Indiana.”
The new partnership adds several Career Step courses to Ivy Tech Community College’s catalog. The new courses include Professional Medical Coding and Billing, Medical Transcription and Editing, Medical Administration Assistant with Electronic Health Record, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Billing, Computer Technician, and Healthcare Information Technology.
“We are pleased to offer these additional education opportunities to our students,” says Kaylene Smith, the Fort Wayne Campus’s lead program manager for Workforce Alignment. “We know from the experiences of other Ivy Tech campuses that these high-quality, career-focused programs will make a real difference in the lives of our students.”
Career Step has partnered with continuing education departments of higher learning institutions for more than a decade to offer its industry-leading career training courses. These partnerships provide institutions with a turnkey solution to prepare more students for successful careers and enable Career Step to assist students across the county. The Fort Wayne Campus joins Career Step’s network of academic partners which includes more than 150 other educational institutions, including University of Central Missouri; California State University, Bakersfield; and Louisiana State University.
