College to host two career events in October

DETAILS:
Employers from around the region will be present at Ivy Tech Northeast’s 2016 Fall Career Fair. Students and community members will be able to meet with employers and are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their resume. Attendees will also be able to have a free LinkedIn profile photo taken and enter to win door prizes.

Currently, nearly 50 employers are scheduled to attend, including Steel Dynamics, Inc.; Wells Fargo; Easter Seals Arc; Fort Wayne Community Schools; and the Woodhouse Day Spa.

DETAILS:
Ivy Tech Northeast will celebrate National Manufacturing Day, a day meant to address misconceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers a chance to showcase what they do. The day also gives these employers a chance to address the skilled labor shortage they face.

Attendees will be able to learn about careers in the field locally; see live demonstrations; and talk to industry representatives, getting advice about their job searches and learning about the education necessary to succeed in manufacturing today.
