Kelty’s Kafé, a student-run deli at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast, will kick off Sept. 7 with a student-crafted menu around the theme Country Fair.
Kelty’s Kafé, which welcomes both students and the community, is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the fall semester. It is located in Anthony Commons on Coliseum Campus, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne.
Each week, a different student in the Bakery Merchandising class chooses a theme and creates a menu for the lunch spot. Classmates run the entire operation, from cash register to cooking.
The first deli, on Sept. 7, will offer the following Country Fair menu:
Apple soup, $3.50
Indiana breaded pork tenderloin, $5
Corn dog, $4
Mixed friend vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, mushrooms, onion rings), $2.50
Beer batter deep fried pickle slices, $1.50
Brownies, $1.25
Cookies (chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin), $1.50
Fried hand pies (apple, cherry, or peach), $2.50
Caramel apples, $2.25
Cinnamon rolls, $2.50
Hoosier cracker jack, $1.25
Funnel cakes, $2
Cinnamon sugar soft buttery pretzels, $1.75
