Kelty’s Kafé, a student-run deli at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast, will kick off Sept. 9 with a student-crafted menu around the theme “The Old West.”
Kelty’s Kafé, which welcomes both students and the community, is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. most Wednesdays during the fall semester. It is located in Anthony Commons on Coliseum Campus, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd.
Each week, a different student in the Bakery Merchandising class chooses a theme and creates a menu for the lunch spot. Classmates run the entire operation, from cash register to cooking.
The first deli will offer the following menu:
Skirt steak sandwich
Chicken in a biscuit
Pork and beans chili
Southwest radish slaw
Deep fried polenta sticks
S’more cheese cake
Fresh baked apple pie
Maple bacon cookies
Dulce de leche cookies
Pumpkin whoopee pies with chai tea cream cheese filling
Chocolate chili cupcakes
