American Honors at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast is accepting applications for the incoming fall 2015 semester for its selective program. The preferred application deadline is May 1
The program helps students earn their associate degree at Ivy Tech Northeast before transferring to a four-year institution. American Honors students work closely with an advisor who helps them sequence classes, plan coursework for Ivy Tech and beyond, find their best-fit four-year school, and balance coursework with other responsibilities.
At Ivy Tech, American Honors students take honors-level coursework. Classes are taught in small seminars and emphasize critical thinking, research, discussion, and depth of knowledge. With access to a transfer network of more than 50 universities, American Honors students are competitive for transfer acceptances and merit scholarships across the country. American Honors alums have transferred to universities including Stanford University, University of Southern California, Manchester University, and Purdue University.
Students can apply to American Honors at IvyTech.edu/honors. They can also attend Apply on the Spot Day from 3:30 to 5 p.m. May 1 in Room CC1360 on the Coliseum Campus (3800 N. Anthony Blvd.) Students are requested to RSVP in advance. Applicants are reviewed by the admissions committee on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who miss the preferred May 1 deadline will be considered on a rolling basis as long as there is capacity.
