The Special Cuisines class at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast has released its dinner schedule for the semester. Students in the class take turns creating, preparing, and serving world-cuisine themed meals for class credit. The culinary students rotate through various positions in the kitchen and dining room, providing a full restaurant experience.
To make reservations, which are required, call the Special Cuisines line at 260-480-2002. Reservations are accepted between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Dinners are served in the Hospitality Room on Coliseum Campus (3800 N. Anthony Blvd.) and run $20, cash or check only. Beer and wine is available for an additional cost.
The semester will kick off Feb. 5 with a menu inspired by Japan and Korea. The menu features a variety of items, including crispy Korean kimchi and pork pancakes, Japanese miso soup, shrimp tempura, and Japanese chicken yakitori. The meal will also feature an action station, where students will cook in the dining area.
