On Thursday, Ivy Tech Community College Northeast’s Multicultural Student Organization and Office of Diversity Affairs will host The Dream: ONE Goal, ONE Vision—UNITY! in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Zebulun R. Davenport, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis’ vice chancellor for Student Affairs, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Kim Barnett-Johnson, Ivy Tech Northeast’s University/Transfer Division dean, and Diana Jackson-Davis, assistant director of Diversity Affairs, saw Davenport speak at a conference in the fall, and they were impressed with what he had to say.
“Our goal is to promote unity within our community,” Barnett-Johnson says. “Dr. Davenport will provide his professional insight and expertise on how we can best make this happen.”

The Dream: ONE Goal, ONE Vision—UNITY! will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Student Life Center gymnasium on North Campus (3701 Dean Drive). The event is free and open to the public.
