Ivy Tech Community College−Northeast is hosting Indiana’s Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Feb. 18. This is the first time all participating teams in CCDC will be from Indiana.

Five teams of eight students will compete against each other to protect and strengthen their mock company’s IT system while also handling the day to day administration of a company’s technical infrastructure. Teams will participate from Ivy Tech−Northeast, Ivy Tech North Central, Indiana University Southeast, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Indiana Tech.

“This is a great opportunity for our students,” said John Knight, program chair for Information Security at Ivy Tech−Northeast and Indiana state director for CCDC. “By participating in CCDC, they have the opportunity to show their skills amongst the best in the state.”

The winning team from Indiana will go on to compete at the regional competition in Minneapolis and from there the winning team will compete in the national competition in San Antonio, Texas.
