Ivy Tech Community College−Northeast worked with Science Central to relaunch their Hot Air Balloon exhibit , which they revealed this morning at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Sen. Jim Banks, Ivy Tech Chancellor Jerrilee K. Mosier and Science Central Executive Director Martin Fisher spoke at the event. Ivy Tech presented helium balloons to approximately 100 first and second grade students who were at Science Central during the event.

“Science Central is excited to work with Ivy Tech, another community STEM partner, to present this exhibit,” said Martin S. Fisher, executive director of Science Central. “We have had a close relationship with Ivy Tech through some other projects, so it makes sense we would work together to refurbish this popular exhibit  for  the community.”

The Hot Air Balloon was one of the original exhibits when Science Central opened in 1995. Ivy Tech−Northeast partnered with Science Central to update and relaunch the exhibit with a more vibrant appearance for visitors.

“Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast is pleased to be a part of hands-on learning at Science Central, which is appealing to children, parents and community members,” said Chancellor Jerrilee K. Mosier, Ed.D. “The science behind the hot air balloon is definitely educational, but it is also symbolic in that Ivy Tech strives each day to assist our students in reaching success and soaring to new heights.”
