Training focuses on factories, warehouses and distribution centers.

Ivy Tech Corporate College is providing grant-funded training, an $895 value, at no cost to participants in the field of transporation and logistics. It is primarily intended for unemployed and displaced front line workers seeking advancement.

The Certifed Logistics Associates training is provided for those interested in becoming frontline transportation and logistics workers, operators and supervisors in factories, warehouses and distribution centers. Training is instructor led with additional e-learning computer modules. The class is 40 hours in length, culminating with the opportunity for an assessment and certification by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC). Participants must be able to operate a computer.

The purpose of the DOL grant is to fund training that will result in unemployed and/or dislocated workers finding jobs and remaining in those jobs for a minimum of six months. Because there are major distribution centers being built in notheast Indiana, the CLA training will provide participants certified training that is applicable to distribution centers.
