Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast’s Humanities Program will host an Inter-Faith Forum on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Student Life Center’s Conference Center on the college’s North Campus (4900 St. Joe Rd.). The forum is titled “Inter-Faith Forum: The Public and Private Face of Religion in the USA and in the World.” Humanities Program chair Rick Pulling has organized the forum to feature four Ivy Tech faculty members and a panel of student responders.

Faculty members include:

  • Thomas Sabel, “Lutheran Catechism” (recently published book)
  • John Morrow, Ph.D., “Ernesto Cardenal and Spiritual Islam”
  • Barton Price, “Religion in the American Heartland from 1789-1900”
  • Joy Giguere, Ph.D., “Cemetery Style: 19th Century Debates”

The forum will include presentations by the above faculty members, student responses, and questions from the audience about current religious expressions in our country and around the world. This forum will highlight private and public faces of religion and the impact those faces have on our lives and on our public discourse.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information about the event, contact Rick Pulling at 260-481-2237 or rpulling@ivytech.edu.
