Dane Hawley has been named the alumni and grant-writing coordinator for Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast. In his new position, Hawley will report to John Milentis, the executive director of resource development. His main role will be to pursue grants for the college. Hawley will also oversee alumni affairs. “I’d like to make as many connections as possible with the faculty and staff at Ivy Tech, so we can develop strategies to pursue more grant-funded projects,” says Hawley. “With regard to alumni affairs, I’d like to build stronger bonds with our alumni, as well as prepare current students to become future alumni who remain connected to, and proud of, their alma mater.”

Hawley came to the college from the University Relations and Communications office at IPFW.  He has an M.S. in organizational leadership and supervision from Purdue University, a dual B.S.Ed. in journalism and speech communication from Northern Arizona University, and dual A.S. in journalism and Web design from Vincennes University.

Hawley is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).  He enjoys photography, graphic design, writing and traveling. He was raised in Peru, Indiana, but now calls Fort Wayne home.
