The Special Cuisines class at Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast will host its final dinner of 2010 on Thursday, December 2. It will be a Tapas-style dinner, which is derived from the Spanish verb tapar (“to cover”). In Spain, tapas has developed into an entire cuisine in which individuals select from a variety of appetizers, snacks, and finer foods while enjoying a Spanish atmosphere. It is usually an event focused on conversation and socialization among the guests.

Reservations for the Tapas-style dinner must be made in advance. Times are available between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 2. Cost is $20 per person, and guests pay at the door.
