Chris Garrett has been appointed DOL Grant Coordinator/Project Consultant for Workforce and Economic Development at Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast. In her new position, Garrett will pursue grant funding for those in the community who are unemployed and needing advanced job skills. Garrett reports to the Director of Workforce and Economic Development. “My goal is to provide professional advanced skills training to assist displaced and unemployed workers in finding and keeping employment,” stated Garrett.

Garrett was working in the Resource Development office at Ivy Tech when she accepted the new position. Prior to that, she worked for 12 years at Gold Shield of Indiana in Decatur. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Huntington College and a Master of Public Affairs degree from Indiana University –Fort Wayne.

Garrett is involved in the community through her participation with Hope Missionary Church, the Norwell Marching Knights Pit Crew, Wells County Domestic Violence Task Force, and the Center for Non Violence. She and her son, Matthew, reside in Bluffton, Indiana.
