Today, Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast Chancellor Jerrilee K. Mosier introduced new career curricula, Career Ladders, to area superintendents to be utilized in area high school classrooms. The career education set highlights four areas of study through the eyes of Ivy Tech–Northeast alumni, students, faculty, and area industry employers.

Career Ladders includes four (4) 30-minute mini-series programs produced through PBS 39 WFWA-DT made possible with the support of the Lincoln Financial Foundation and corresponding classroom curricula authored in collaboration between area high school experts and Ivy Tech faculty. These informative and educational programs are aimed at high school students considering their career options, and they highlight the importance of Ivy Tech in relation to the respective academic programs and degree-related careers available in the marketplace.

The set covers the following areas of study that involve several career options:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Construction Technology
  • Culinary Arts
  • Respiratory Care

In addition to providing the curricula set to area high schools, the video portions of the set are also available online at www.ivytech.edu/fortwayne/ladders. Included is a compiled list of additional career resources that expand on some of the topic and career areas.

Over the next month, Ivy Tech will be visiting area high schools to explain and distribute the curricula set. For additional information on Career Ladders, contact Dawn Bon Ami at 260-480-4294 or dbonami@ivytech.edu.
