The Special Cuisines class at Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast combines students’ skills and experience to plan, create, and execute menus from regions all over the world in the Special Cuisines dinner series. The class is comprised of culinary students who are rotated through various positions in the kitchen and dining room throughout the semester in order to solidify their knowledge of the foodservice industry prior to graduation.

“This class is one of the most beneficial to our culinary students, because they get to put what they’ve learned into action and see if their own culinary thoughts are on track with the trends of the industry and today’s customers,” says Hospitality Administration Program Chair Jeff Bunting, CEC.

Dinners are scheduled on Thursday evenings through the fall semester.

September 23 French Buffet
September 30 Mexican/South American Buffet

December 2 Tapas-style Buffet

Dinners are open to the public. Cost is $20 per person, and reservations are taken for times between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on the evening of each dinner. Call 260-480-4133 for reservations.
