Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast will host its 4^th annual Edible Book Festival on Thursday, April 1, 2010. The event will be held at the Student Life Center on the North Campus (4900 St. Joe Rd.). The public viewing will be from Noon-1 p.m., and the reception with “book-tasting” will be from1-2 p.m.

The event is held in conjunction with the International Edible Book Festival, an annual event on April 1 that unites bibliophiles, book artists, and food lovers across the world to celebrate the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826) – famous for his book Physiologie du goût, a witty meditation on food. Participants create edible books that are exhibited, documented, and consumed. The first festival of its kind was arranged in 2000, and many countries have taken part in the festival including theUnited States,Australia,Brazil,India,Japan,Mexico,Ireland,England, andGermany.
