Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast will host an Interfaith Forum onWednesday, March 17, 2010from10:30 a.m.to11:45 a.m.in room 513 of theStudentLifeCenteron the college’s North Campus off ofSt. Joe Rd.
The Interfaith Forum is sponsored by this semester’s Philosophy of Religion course instructed by Rick Pulling. It features three prominent religious leaders from three major religious groups in the Fort Wayne area – Imam J. Tamir Resheed of the Islamic Center of Fort Wayne, Rabbi Marla Joy Subeck Spanjer of the Jewish Congregation Achduth Vesholm (Unity and Peace), and Rev. Dr. Terry Anderson, Christian pastor and counselor and Executive Director of the Interfaith Hospitality Network and the 2008 recipient of the prestigious “Gandhi King Ikeda Award.”
The forum will include presentations by the panel and questions from the students and audience about the desire for inclusiveness in our society amidst the exclusivistic claims of segments from each religious group. This forum will highlight the fact that many see this as one of the most important issues facing us in the 21st Century.
