Ivy Tech hosting Asian Islands dinner April 12

The Special Cuisines class at Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast invites the community to join its students, faculty and staff for an Asian Islands dinner on April 12. Community members will get the opportunity to sample traditional fare from the Asian Islands while supporting students, as they showcase their culinary talents. There will be five courses.

Tuna Nigiri Sushi (Table Side) (Japan)
Aloo Chop (Potato Cake) (Bangladesh)

Green Bean and Coconut Salad
Cucumber Salad

Japanese Miso Ramen
Hot and Sour Chicken Soup

Entrees (Served with rice and wilted sesame watercress)
Pork Adobo (Philippines)
Teriyaki Duck (Japan)
Saak-er Ghanto (Bangladesh)
Caramelized Shrimp (Thai)

Green Tea Ice Cream with Karinto (Japan)
Sans Rival (Philippines)
Cinnamon Rice Pudding

Pan De Sal (Philippines)

Cucumber Ginger Soda

Dinners are open to the public. They are located on Ivy Tech’s Coliseum Campus (3800 N. Anthony Blvd.) in the Hospitality Room (enter door 24 on the north side of the building). Cost is $20 per person, cash or check only.

Reservations are taken for times between 5 and 6:30 p.m. and can be made up until noon the day of the dinner. To make a reservation, call the Special Cuisines line at 260-480-2002. Upon calling the hotline, guests will receive a confirmation number, which they must present upon arrival.
